On reach, you have to aim carefully and space out your shots to reduce reticle bloom. The carbine in halo 2 has a very high rate of fire which let's you melt brutes in seconds. You're often armed with only a shotgun which forces you to go close quarters.īrutes are way easier on halo 2 too. On reach, the hunters are much stronger and fuel rods have a much larger AOEs. There is not a SINGLE hunter encounter throughout the game where you are not armed with beam rifle/sniper rifle. This exposes their back, allowing you to kill it with 1-2 beam rifle shots.

All you have to do is to stick them with a plasma grenade, which makes them do a 180° flip and get stunned for a few seconds. Hunters are also much, much easier in halo 2. In fact, the ONLY times where you have to use the noob combo are Cairo Station, Arbiter and Oracle. On some levels like Regret, you literally never run out of beam rifle ammo. Levels like gravemind have beam rifle crates everywhere. For every jackel sniper you kill, you get a beam rifle with 12-15 shots. One thing people forget is how much beam rifle ammo you get in halo 2. As long as you land the first hit on an elite ultra, you can easily combo 3 other hits to take it down. They also have a generous stun duration, making it easy to land successive shots. You can literally no scope elites with the beam rifle.

On the other hand, in halo 2, sniping is incredibly easy as elites literally stand still. For instance, it is incredibly difficult to kill an elite major with 2 sniper shots (body + head) as they keep strafing, even when they don't notice your presence. The insane target bloom also slows down your firing speed tremendously. The AI never stand still, they are constantly on their feet, making it incredibly difficult to shoot/snipe them. I read from many sources that for this section, the MCC version is way harder than the xbox version due to the enemies targeting you faster in 60 FPS. Some parts are downright impossible, such as the seraph section in Long Night of Solace.

Many people say Halo 2 has the hardest legendary, but imo Halo Reach's is the hardest by far.
